VLA Announces Partnership with USA Volleyball

Volleyball League of America is beyond excited about our new partnership with USAV! We believe that this is something that has been a long time coming and are ecstatic that the community we've been building for the past 5 years is officially being recognized by the governing body of volleyball of the United States of America. We believe that this will be the beginning of a long and fruitful relationship that all within the community will be able to enjoy.

We will be sharing a separate and more specific breakdown soon particularly as to how the V.L.A. Championships will integrate into USAV Adult Open Nationals Championships. But for now here are some of the highlights of our new partnership.

USAV Adult Open National Championships:

Starting with the 2026 season the VLA Championships (all Tiers) will be integrated into USAV Adult Open Nationals Championships. A more detailed explanation will come separately but we can't wait to showcase the V.L.A.'s talent at USAV Adult Nationals.

USAV/VLA Memberships:

With the integration of V.L.A. Championships into Adult Nationals a new national membership has been created for V.L.A. Members. This membership will be required for all individuals to participate in the V.L.A. and will offer several benefits:

• Full USAV Membership Credentials
• Insurance coverage consistent with USAV adult athlete standards
• Access to USAV Sanctioned competition**

We are working closely with USAV to create the V.L.A./USAV Membership in their portal. We will alert everyone as soon as it is ready.  If you are already a USAV member because you coach at a Junior club you will not have to register a second time.

USAV Sanctioned Events*:

With VLA members now being accredited USAV members we will now have access to USAV Regional and National Qualifying events as locations for competitions. Initially this will only be reflected in Tier 1 competition but our joint goal is to create a system that will allow all V.L.A. Tiers to connect with their local events and increase visibility for all teams and the league itself as an option for all to continue playing at a high level after college.

We are beyond excited for this new chapter in the evolution of our league and all the opportunities it will create for our community. Keep a look out for further updates!
